Educating learners about the various options and possibilities that the livestock industry offers, is one of our key focus areas. We are expecting more than 2500 learners over two days (Thursday & Friday).
They will be edutained by means of a scheduled programme, made possible by the Western Cape Department of Agriculture. View the Schools programme.

Take off your city boots and experience your country roots. Farmies as well as townies will be able to explore all aspects of farm life at Agri-Expo Livestock. Kids will get the opportunity to lead animals around the show ring with the assistance of experienced trainers or simply touch and interact with live animals. Sheep dog shows and sheep shearing demonstrations are some of the exciting activities visitors can look forward to.

Back by popular demand, Agri-Expo Livestock doubles up on information exchange with the presentation of a Dairy Goat Information Day and a Beef Cattle Information Day (please note that the days have switched on the programme from previous years).
Attendees to both information days can expect to be equipped with valuable information that can be applied to their businesses.
Topics that will be discussed during the Milk Goat Information Day, taking place on Thursday, 12 October 2017, include the differences and opportunities of dairy goats and meat goats, Boererate (simple remedies for common farm animal ailments) and the management of vaccines and dosing remedies. There will also be a practical demonstration on dehorning, tattooing, castration and other management tips. View the full programme.
Industry experts will share their business skills and knowledge of beef cattle farming during the Beef Cattle Information Day, taking place on Friday, 13 October 2017. Some of the topics include financial management of your farming enterprise, drought advice for beef cattle farmers, the latest red meat trends, the weather situation, and Boererate for cattle farming. The Biomin Show Arena will host the biggest breed- and interbreed championships in the Western Cape as well as the Old Mutual Insure Regional Youth Show.
The ultimate honour for the top dairy breeds is to be crowned the FNB Dairy Queen of the Year and for the beef cattle breeds to be crowned BKB Supreme Beef King or Queen. It takes years of thorough breeding, excellent blood lines and just a bit of luck to create the ultimate champion, which makes this display of top breeds a spectacular experience. Visitors can share some time amongst these prized animals and witness the royalty of the livestock industry enter the spotlight in the Biomin Show Arena in the Pavilion at Agri-Expo Livestock.
Come and experience auctions of Percheron horses, as well as miniature horses and donkeys.
The Show Arena will host the biggest dairy and beef cattle breed and inter-breed championships, where the very best of pure bred cattle breeds from across the country compete in the various categories. The Dairy Queen of the Year and the Red Meat King/Queen of the Year will be announced on the Saturday.
Agri-Expo Livestock proudly hosts the Young Auctioneer’s Competition. The public can also participate in general competitions leading up to the expo with big prizes to be won!
The SA Stud Book Logix ELITE Prize-giving dinner for the top Western Cape Dairy and Beef Cattle Herds and the ARC National Dairy Performer’s Awards Dinner take place at Agri-Expo Livestock. Both events are by invitation only.
A Dairy Goat Information Day and a Beef Cattle Information Day will take place on Thursday and Friday respectively. Both events are financially supported by the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, are open to all interested parties and registration is free of charge.
Youth shows encourage teamwork, active participation and involvement in the agricultural sector, especially the livestock industry. It stimulates entrepreneurship and career options in agriculture and develops important life skills. Agri-Expo Livestock hosts the official Western Cape Regional Young Farmers’ Challenge as well as an informal Youth Show for children visiting the event.
Agri-Expo will embark on a full PR and advertising campaign for the 2016 event. We need as much information as possible regarding your business as well as details of new products that you may be launching at the Expo. Kindly forward any material directly to the organisers.
Payment for exhibition stands and additional services is required in advance.
Non-refundable deposit: 60% of the booking fee accompanying each stand’s registration form will be a non-refundable deposit to secure your stand at the Expo.
Please note: Exhibitors will NOT be allowed onto their stands unless the organisers have received full payment in respect of stands. With regards to the payment of services, please ensure that payment is made to the correct company. Suppliers will not fulfil their orders unless full payment has been received.
There will be various colour-coded parking areas at the venue set aside for exhibitors and this will be utilised on a first-come-first-serve basis. Access will be granted with the showing of exhibitor parking disks only.
The official Security personnel reserves the right to control traffic and to remove illegally parked vehicles, obstructing access areas, or parked in such a way that they impede activities relating to the services provided, or is deemed to be dangerous to the general public. Vehicles that are parked in restricted areas will be removed.
Exhibitors and their staff will be required to wear an exhibitor’s badge for access to the venue during the Expo. Each 3 x 3m stand will be issued with six exhibitor’s badges for the duration of the show. Any extra exhibitor’s badges can be ordered via our Client Co-ordinator at the time of Registration. These badges are for the sole use of exhibitors. Please note that this rule will be strictly enforced.
Exhibitors may access their stands from 08:00 daily before the Expo opens, to prepare their stands. The stands must be cleared within an hour of the Expo closure.
Exhibitors and staff should display exhibitor badges at all times (including build up, Expo hours and break down). Security may refuse admission to anyone failing to produce an official exhibitor’s badge. Badges will be available for collection at the organisers’ office at Sandringham.
Exhibitors should arrange for a representative to be on their stand during the build up period to receive goods and deliveries. As soon as unloading/loading has taken place during the allocated time period, vehicles are to be removed from this area to allow other exhibitors access.
The organisers cannot accept delivery of any goods on behalf of an exhibitor, nor will the organisers accept any responsibility whatsoever for the safety or condition of any items unloaded and/or left on site, in the absence of exhibitors. The organisers cannot accept any responsibility for goods damaged on the exhibition premises.
Empty packaging may not be stored on exhibitors’ stands
Exhibitors will be responsible for costs incurred through damage to any part of the tent or shell scheme stands or exhibits caused by the transportation of their equipment outside and inside the exhibition area. Any such damage must immediately be reported to the organisers’ office.
Deliveries during the event: Deliveries should be completed half an hour before the start of the event each day. Deliveries cannot take place during the open hours of the Expo. Access will be allowed by way of an exhibitor’s badge. Please ensure that you request sufficient badges in order to eliminate unnecessary disturbance and frustration at point of entry. NO STAFF WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR OFF-LOADING!
Enjoy a day on the farm, watch cows being milked with the latest milking equipment in the Milk Shed, see animals being washed and prepared in the Wash Area before their parade in the show ring or create unique photo opportunities with animals like Percherons, Alpacas, different cattle breeds, sheep, etc in the Animal Lane.

No subletting of stands is allowed without the permission of the organisers.
The organisers strongly recommend that exhibitors protect their stands with a night security screen. A safety sail, which closes your stand area during closing hours, is available for hire. (Please see Suppliers List).
During the Expo’s official open times all stands must be completely open, exhibits presentable for public viewing and have an adequate number of exhibitor’s staff in attendance. Stands must be manned no later than 15 minutes before the opening time each day. Under no circumstances may any stand or part thereof be closed before closing time. Stands must be fully operational and manned until 18:00 on Saturday 15 October 2016. We kindly request that exhibitors adhere to this request for the benefit of the public.

To help maintain the high standard of the exhibition, trophies for excellence will be awarded in different categories to stand holders who take up the challenge of marketing themselves and their products in the best possible manner within their means.
Exhibitors are reminded that their activities, unless otherwise agreed to by the organisers, must remain within the confines of their stands.
Exhibitors are reminded that all items on hire remain their responsibility until equipment is collected or returned to the relevant companies. The organisers will take no responsibility for goods on behalf of the exhibitor, neither for ensuring their safe return.
Exhibitors are requested to have fire extinguishers available at their stands, where possible. The organisers will also have extinguishers placed in strategic places at the venue.
A resting place (next to the organisers’ office) with free coffee and tea will be available to exhibitors to rest their feet. You are welcome to make use of this facility.
Exhibitors are reminded that the Agri-Expo Livestock is a non-smoking exhibition. Any enclosed exhibition area, whether of permanent or temporary structure, is strictly non-smoking.
The official security contractor appointed to the exhibition is the only security company permitted at the venue. (See Suppliers List)
It must be stressed that neither the organisers nor the security operators at the venue can be held responsible for any loss or damage to exhibitors’ property. Please be vigilant.
The following points should be carefully noted:
The organisers’ office will be located conveniently near the middle of the Expo grounds.
Exhibitors are advised to contact their insurance companies to negotiate the necessary extra clauses to their existing policies. The organisers are not responsible for the insurance of exhibitors’ goods.
The organisers, whilst taking every reasonable precaution, expressly decline any responsibility for loss or damage, which may befall the property of an exhibitor through any cause whatsoever.
The display and use of firearms is not permitted at the exhibition venue.
A First Aid room, manned by a professional medical team, will be situated next to the Organisers’ Office in front of the main Marquee. Serious emergencies will be taken to hospital, but the Organisers will not be liable for any costs incurred. Please report any accidents to the Organisers’ Office immediately.
Please make sure that you have a representative present during the build up period for the placement of spotlights (if ordered) and plug points, as there will be an additional charge should you wish to move them.
