Agri-Expo Livestock … a world-class event

Agri-Expo Livestock is all about showcasing the livestock industry, creating a platform for trade and encouraging the youth to get involved in the agriculture sector.

Visitors will experience world-class cattle championships, Youth Shows, animal and product displays, animal parades, demonstrations, machinery and equipment. On Saturday, visitors can experience the Groot Plaasproe.
The highlight will be the crowning of the Dairy Queen and Red Meat King or
Queen.

Agri-Expo Livestock focuses on the following sectors: Animal Nutrition, Genetics, Animal Health Hygiene, Milking/Dairy Equipment, Services, Educational Institutions and Value Chain Products.

What can you expect at this year’s expo?

Auctions

Live auctions take place at Agri-Expo Livestock. This is one of the exciting highlights visitors can look forward to.

Competitions

A Fascinating Young Auctioneer’s Competition takes place on the Saturday. The public can also participate in general competitions.

Demonstrations

See live demonstrations of sheep shearing, a parade of livestock breeds, dog shows and much more…

Displays

Agricultural displays where you can experience different livestock breeds, an extensive selection of poultry and a range of equine species.

Insightful Information days

A Dairy Goat Information Day and a Beef Cattle Information Day will take place on Thursday and Friday respectively.

Breed- and interbreed championships

The Show Arena will host the biggest dairy and beef cattle breed- and inter-breed championships in the Western Cape.

Industry awards functions

The SA Stud Book Logix ELITE Prize-giving will take place on the Thursday and the ARC National Dairy Performer’s Awards on the Friday. Both events are by invitation only.

Schools’ educational programme

More than 2000 learners are expected over two days where they will be edutained and exposed to the various career options and possibilities offered by the livestock industry.
